TikTok and GYLC started working on climate in Bangladesh
The popular platform TikTok, recently started working on climate with the Global Youth Leadership Center (GYLC). GYLC is an international non-profit organization that unites youth around the world to tackle the climate crisis. In partnership with GYLC, TikTok launched the 'TikTok for Climate Action' campaign. The program of the campaign will continue throughout the year. Where the youth of Bangladesh will be given climate education and leadership development will be taught. Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) will act as the local executing partner for the transformative project.
10 workshops will be organized under the 'TikTok for Climate Action' initiative. It will involve many academics, climate scientists, mental health experts and government officials. These workshops will serve as a platform to encourage the youth of Bangladesh about inclusion, communication and active citizenship.
The TikTok platform has become a medium for expressing opinions. Many people are highlighting the urgent issues of environment and sustainable sector on this platform. Where the creators of the TikTok community speak out to raise awareness, inspire action and improve the world. TikTok's creators and organizations provide advice on energy-saving, sustainable development, better lifestyles and elimination of everyday waste. TikTok is running the #ClimateAction campaign around the world to raise awareness about sustainability and climate action. Through which other communities can join the climate conversation and take action. The hashtag Climate Action has garnered over 2 billion video views worldwide since the COP-26 campaign began.
One of the major concerns in Bangladesh is climate change. To counter this, educational workshops will be launched with university students across the country. The workshop sessions aim to deepen participants' understanding of climate-related issues. Besides, the workshop will work on actionable steps at both individual and systemic levels. Above all, this initiative will promote inclusion, increased connectivity and active citizenship among the youth population of Bangladesh.
